Lessons with Charlie

This morning, while Jimmy played with his cow and dinosaur figurines, Charlie tried to convince him that he needs to learn some new words in preparation for Fall.

"Jimmy, Fall is coming! It's a new time of year! You don't need summer words anymore. You don't need to say 'hot'..."

"Hot."

"No, Jimmy, you don't say 'hot' anymore, and you don't say 'water'..."

"Wa-wa. Hot."

"No, Jimmy. Listen to me. Learn Fall words. Say 'pooky'."

"koo-bee?"

"Pooo-keee"

"booo-boo"

Charlie sighed, clearly exhausted, "Pooky. Pooo-keee. Mom! Tell him how to say pooky"

I looked up from my coffee, "spooky?"

"Yes, like, that. Say it like that Jimmy."

"Hot."
