Locksmith

As part of our baby-proofing efforts last week, Billy and I bought locks for the kitchen cabinets. When Charlie tried to open a cabinet and couldn't, he crawled away and we foolishly thought our plan had worked. However, Charlie crawled to the oven, pulled himself up, walked along the cabinets to the one that had refused to open, jiggled the lock until it came undone, walked back to the oven, lowered himself back to the floor, crawled to his cabinet, and opened and shut it happily while grinning at us. It was a proud (and scary) moment for us.

Charlie also had fun this weekend seeing some of the other boys at the annual Teamwork Associates picnic, playing with adorable William and Louisa, watching his good friends Lindsay and Greg get married, and helping Billy and I host a dinner party. He was a little frustrated that he couldn't eat the fancy grown-up snacks we put out.

Today Charlie stood on his own for a little while. He was so proud and excited that he waved his hands and promptly fell on his bottom.
